Description

Looks Like a Race Truck. Works Like One, Too.

Take a look at a full-size short-course or desert racing truck and you’ll notice something: the rear bumper isn’t just there for decoration. It’s built to handle some serious abuse.

We took that same approach with the RPM Rear Bumper for the Traxxas Slash 4×4. The bumper itself is shared with our popular Slash 2wd version, giving both trucks the aggressive, authentic look of a full-size race truck. Underneath, however, we designed a completely different mounting system specifically for the 4×4.

That mounting system strikes a careful balance between rigidity and controlled flex. It stays solid during normal driving, but gives when the rear of the truck takes a hard hit. That flex helps absorb impact energy before it can make its way into the more vulnerable components of the chassis.

And when it’s time to work on the rear suspension, we made sure the bumper doesn’t get in your way.

Our twin-hinge mounting system lets the entire bumper swing out of the way with just two bottom-mounted flathead screws removed. That gives you quick, easy access to the rear A-arms without completely removing the bumper. Even better, the rear sway bar can stay right where it belongs.

Of course, we couldn’t build a bumper this tough without beefing up the skid plate, too. The lower mount/skid plate is over 35% thicker than the stock version, giving the rear of your Slash significantly more protection against gravel, asphalt, and the other assorted abuse that comes with driving an R/C truck like you mean it.

Make It Look the Part

We also left room for some serious scale detail.

The bumper comes ready for RPM Mud Flaps #81012 and RPM Tail Light Kits #81030. Add them to your Slash and the rear end starts looking less like an R/C truck and more like a miniature desert racer.

And if you’ve never seen a Slash tearing through the darkness with a full set of LEDs blazing away, you’re missing half the fun.

Race-truck looks. Serious protection. Smarter serviceability. More ways to make your Slash your own.
