Description
Traxxas’ clipless body mounting system on the X-Maxx delivers fast, convenient body changes, but the mounting screw holes remain a known weak point. Hard landings and repeated impacts can crack the holes and quickly ruin an expensive body. Once a screw pulls through, the body often becomes unusable, forcing you to rely on oversized washers or replace the body entirely at a cost of $75–$110.
RPM Body Savers for the X-Maxx provide a clean, durable solution. At the front, the Body Savers resemble molded hood vents (2) and A/C vents (2). At the rear, they take on the appearance of exposed, riveted metal panels (2). These scale details blend seamlessly into the body while reinforcing the most failure-prone mounting locations.
Functionally, the system works in two key ways. At the front, the Body Savers act as large-surface mounting reinforcements, spreading the load far more effectively than standard washers without compromising appearance. At the rear, the body mounting sub-frame uses two pairs of screws to secure the body. RPM’s rear Body Savers tie each pair of screws together, distributing clamping force over a wider area and significantly reducing stress at the mounting holes. Even bodies with torn-out mounting holes from previous crashes can be saved.
RPM molds Body Savers in black using ultra-strong, engineering-grade nylon for long-lasting durability and impact resistance. Each set includes enough Body Savers to protect all body mounting points on the vehicle.
Tech Notes: RPM Body Savers are tested to work with Traxxas #7711, #7711A & #7711G, #7711R & #7711X bodies only. They have not been tested nor are they guaranteed to work with any other Traxxas or aftermarket bodies.
