Our most popular 2.2″ wheel just got a Short Course upgrade! The RPM Revolver Short Course Front Wheels bring the aggressive styling of our popular Revolver wheels to your Traxxas Slash 2WD and other vehicles running a similar offset. After years of customer requests, we developed a Short Course version that delivers the looks you love with the strength and engineering you expect from RPM.
But these wheels offer more than great looks. They feature our innovative Spline Drive system, designed to handle serious power without the weaknesses of conventional hex-style drives.
Spline Drive Technology: Strength Where It Matters Most
Standard 12mm hex drives are simple to manufacture, which explains their widespread use. However, their design can leave them vulnerable to spinning under heavy rotational loads. That’s because rotational force can push a hex adapter outward and upward, contributing to adapter failure.
RPM Spline Drive adapters take a different approach. Their unique design directs rotational force in a nearly perpendicular direction, dramatically reducing the tendency for the adapter to spin. Inspired by splined driveline components used in full-sized vehicles, this design delivers a stronger, more reliable connection between the axle and wheel.
The advantages don’t stop there. RPM Spline Drives provide almost twice the drive surface area of a standard 12mm hex adapter. They also offer more than 2.5 times the thickness at the critical drive point where conventional hex adapters are most vulnerable to failure.
Even a larger 17mm hex drive has its limitations. Although a 17mm hex offers slightly more drive surface area (0.0777 sq. in. versus 0.0744 sq. in.), the RPM Spline Drive system provides nearly twice the thickness at that critical drive point. The result? Exceptional resistance to spinning without the need for a bulky, heavy 17mm adapter.
