Description

The extended chassis braces on newer T-Maxx and E-Maxx trucks made our original center skid plate a no-go without modification. After heavy customer demand, RPM answered with an all-new center skid plate designed specifically for modern, stretched-chassis versions of the T-Maxx and E-Maxx.

Unlike the stock center skid plate, the RPM version covers the majority of the chassis braces with more than 4mm of bulletproof RPM protection. Carefully molded contours follow the chassis support rails and create a smooth, low-friction transition surface. That design prevents rocks and debris from catching on the rear skid plate and causing hang-ups or damage.

We added deep recessed mounting holes to protect screw heads from impacts and abrasion. A matched grooved finish runs from the front skid to the rear for consistent wear resistance and improved durability. The center skid plate also ties both chassis braces together, increasing rigidity and strengthening the entire mid-chassis area.

Because the RPM center skid plate spans the rearward length of the chassis braces, it blocks dirt and debris from packing into the rear skid plate area. That added protection improves driveline reliability and extends driveshaft bearing life.

RPM center skid plates install easily, include all required mounting hardware (1/8″ drill not included), and come molded in blue or black. We back every skid plate with our limited lifetime warranty against breakage, and we proudly mold every RPM skid plate right here in the USA.

Tech Notes: The E-Maxx & T-Maxx use different mounting hole locations for the center mounting screws. We left the mounting holes blind to prevent dirt build up in the holes that aren’t used. A 1/8” diameter drill is required to drill out the correct mounting holes for the vehicle the skid plate will be mounted on. For older version T-Maxx, E-Maxx & S-Maxx trucks, our original T/E-Maxx Center Skid Plates (#80142 & #80145) are the correct length for the chassis side rails of those versions.

Version Identification: Not sure if these are the correct skid plates for your truck? There’s an easy way to tell. If your chassis braces (Traxxas #4963) have the word “MAXX” molded into it, these are the correct version skid plates for you. If “MAXX” is not present, you need RPM #80112, #80115 or #80118.

Important Note: RPM skid / wear plates require the use of stock, plastic skid plates, bulkheads and (for center skid plates) chassis braces. RPM skid plates will work with most aftermarket aluminum front & rear skid plates but RPM guarantees the fit only when used with stock parts.
